HELP!-syncing mpc500 to logic

just bought the 500, pretty cool so far. I can save and load my sequences onto my computer via usb, except when I save them as mpc-seq files, they show up as blank files on my desktop and no program can open them. is there a way to get beats from the mpc onto my comp as .wav or something that can be opened as an audio track in logic? any help would be much appreciated.

seq files are just files the mpc knows how to read. theres isn't a computer program that can read them.

if you want to convert them to wav you need to hook the outputs of the mpc into your computer and record to audio recording software.

So this is what I've figured out so far....(correct me if i am wrong).
Trying to sync the MPC to Logic via Midi will work, but it does not hold the original sample on the MPC, only the midi note. I've been trying all night.
The only real successful way I've recorded into Logic so far is running a quality patch cord from my outs in the back to the Firewire interface. I actually have a preamp in front of my interface so it goes through both. I've had to be careful with volumes as not to get clipping.
So yeah, that's all I got.

isnt that the whole point of mpcs though, that you can make a beat with a sample, then edit it on a software sequencer on a computer? it seems awfully complicated for something so basic

Well I knew going into this that the MPC is a complicated beast.
I think I have a handle on it now. With the audio outs, I've just been using it as an instrument through Logic.
As is well so far.
