im kinda of new to the mpc so.....

i pretty much nailed the sampling part of the mpc but now the part that i thought would be easy is the drums. What exactly is drum layering? does anyone have any tips or guides or videos on this topic of layering drums on the mpc. because right now i have a strong sample with i weak out of sync drum!

the out of sync part has nothing to do with layering , what u have to do is find the tempo of the sample so it loops right , drum layering is when u assign multiple drum sounds to one pad to make the drums hit harder: deeper bass drums , stronger thicker sounding snares etc...

exactly find a nice loop get the tempo and make drums

normally when I want layer, I just make 2 records, for example 1st rec in Snare and 2nd Rec in clap... theres any way to put both on the same pad? how?

i coulda sworn the 500 had the same option ass the newer mpc's where u could layer mulitple sounds to one pad, and they wouldnt need to be assigned anywhere else on the padbank.

im pretty sure there is. i dont have a 500 right now but i would guess in program where u scroll rhtough samples to assign one to a pad , after u assign, for example ur snare, u shoul be able to go down and assign a second sample ( ur clap) and a third and so fourth...check the manual to see exacctly how it works on the 500

yes you can layer samples on top of each other, 4 per pad. check out the manual which they do have online.

just copped my 500. in sample assign window, the next field to the left of where u scroll through ur samples is where u can move the next space after u assign ur first sample and assign another one
