I just want to let everyone know that this tiny little machine is sick I got an extra gig of ram and a gig card. I need some questions answered though?
-how do you change your sample to mono
-how to record louder(for some reason it comes out really low).
-how can I record from my comp to mpc?should I get an editing prog?
-any other tips on this SWEET lil thin?

Change to mono in the Record Mode-Mode screen.

Download the MPC500 parameter map and refer to it when you need to find where functions on the MPC500 are located...

If you are recording with the record gain knob turned right up, and it is still not loud enough, try changing the switch on the back of the MPC500 from line to mic.

You can save from your computer as .WAV files, then transfer them onto the MPC500 CF Card, then load them into the MPC500. No need to actually record from computer to MPC500, just transfer .WAV files accross.

128mb of ram is the only capacity that the 500 works expanding to.

Welcome to the Forum kinglouie. The 500 is dope,I agree. So much power and you can tote it around with ya.Many will be quick to point out the weaknesses that lies in the machine, yet in its humble size and meekness there lies that same feeling and power I felt when I first tapped out a sequence long ago. No machine is perfect. Lets work with what God has blessed the earth with. 8)

You believe Akai is God? :D

Just playing, I love my 500. I haven't owned any other sequencer or sampler so I have nothing to compare it to, but it's great!
