URGENT HELP required....

Hi there, I work in a studio in London and we just bought a 500 - all works fine except when we USB connect tpo our PC - there's just a buzzing noise - it's like it hates the USB...

Now the chain is this:

P4 PC > USB > MPC 500 > OUTPUT > SM PRO AUDIO 'M PATCH 2' > XLRs > TANNOY ACTIVE

What in this chain can be casuing the buzz!?? I am thinking some earthing issue because there's a small shock when we touch the MPC!

Anyone else come across this and if so - how to fix!!!!!!!!!! ?

Please help as I said I'd have this running before some people come by to view studio.

the usb option is only for file transfers. you only connect the cable when you want to transfer files to/from the computer, otherwise keep the usb cable unplugged.

Yes I got that - it's just that when I connect the USB to do as you've described - I get weird buzzing through my speakers - I'm currently trying different combinations of routing the stuff - missing out the monitor control - why do you think the MPC being connected to a monitor control like our SM M-Patch would make any difference.. very weird and I am sure it must be more than the MPC.. AGHH
