Windows MPC PGM editor for the 500?

Hey pplz. Im new to the whole mpc500 and music production thing. Im going from being dj, so this is a whole new world for me.Ive had my 500 for 6 days now and still trying to figure out this thing. This seems like a great forum with lots of helpful people. Anywayz.. my question is, are there any PGM editor software for PC?

There isn't a specific MPC500 editor yet, but do a search for a piece of software called Bluebox. It's specifically for the MPC1000, but works fine with the 500.

There is just one thing to be wary of.

Because the 1000 has 16 pads and the 500 has 12, when you assign samples to Bank A pads 13, 14, 15 & 16 in Bluebox, they are assigned to Bank B pads 1, 2, 3 & 4 on the 500 and so on.

I copped my 500 about 3 weeks ago, and I've come along way since then...but still have a ways to go...if you need ne real-experience advice about the 500, post and i'll hit you with as much as I know.

Now about BLuebox..I have it and like the guy b4 me says, it does overwrite pads in the next bank...furthermore I've experienced some bugs, when using it with the 500.... however i found a better solution.

1.) Connect MPC to Computer
2.) make new folder on the Mpc's hardrive
3.) Paste your files there
4.) Safely Remove USB Conenction
5.) Press MODE>LOAD
6.) Scroll to "Load Folder"
7.) Select the new Folder you created
8.) Load files

Your files are now loaded to memory. And all you have to do is assign them to pads. (keep in mind the 16MB Memory only allows so many files to be loaded)

1.) Press MODE>PROGRAM
2.) Scroll to Sample Assign
3.) Press pad and assign sample

This way you won't have to worry about overwritten pads. You can assign them wherever you like... and any files you don't assign, you can purge them and create space for more sounds to load. The purge option is the last option under the program menu
