You take one step forward then its two steps back..Help Plz?

First off I'd like to say thanks to all those who helped me with my first issue. I now can record and put songs on my ipod . I made my first track and put in on my ipod to take with me on the way to work . When i get my craft perfected I'll post my track and let you guys peep it real quick. Ok now to the new problem i was trying this sampling thing . Now i press mode >REC and play on the recording source and it all registers on the MPC . Now when i finish and press do it and go to check the sample out its mad low . Why is that ?I even turned each pad up to 100 being that by default they are at 70 . Still the sample can be heard but its low . I have to say everyone on here is MAD COOL and extremely helpful and i give everyone MAD PROPS WORD . Any help with this new issue would be greatly appreciated . PeAcE ......

You need to get a good enough level when recording into the MPC500 so that the signal level meter on the MPC500 screen reaches almost to the right hand side on the loudest part of the sample.

Use the Rec Level knob to set the level appropriatly.

If you have the Rec Level knob at full, and you are still not getting the signal near the right of the signal level meter, you might be able to make it louder by pressing the mic/line button on the rear of the MPC500 to the mic position. If this doesn't make it loud enough on the signal level meter, then you need to make the signal louder at the source, before it gets to the MPC500.

What the the source of the signal?

Are you setting the level based on the signal level meter on the MPC500, and is it getting close to the right side of the meter/screen?
