compact flash card help

hi, in the mpc500 manual it says that you can only use type 1 and type 2 compact flash cards. I just went to Office Depot yesterday and there is no indication on the cf cards that they are selling where it says type 1 or type 2. Does this mean that they are compatible just as long as I format them?

ps. I used to have a mpc1000 and when I purchased it used, I remember that it came with an extra cf card from sandisk but I can't remember if it said type 1 or type 2.

Don't worry about it too much! There are 2 types of CF cards and the MPC500 supports them both. That's all.

great, so basically I can get any cf card that looks like the one that came with the mpc500? I just have to format it, am I correct?

I guess so, but remember the MPC500 doesn't support lager cards than 2GB.
