Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

i recently got a mpc 500 and the thing is driving me crazy... i am no novice to midi or music production but i am having more problems than i ever could have anticipated with this thing...lately i have been loading samples, that i would like to loop and/or sequence drums over, and they seem to function fine until i try to trigger it in a sequence and it will only play for about an 1/8th note...i've tried both one shot and note on settings, as well as loop on/off...any suggestions????

I have the same problem, when i have some sequences saved and i want to make next one, the samples from previous sequences stop playing after I hit the pads.
Could anybody help us... please :?

1. Check if the pad isn't set to mono
2. Check if you aren't usinng mutegroups
3. You might be out of voices/polyphony so long samples stop playing

1 and 2 are set in program mode.

3 is a hardware limitation, MPC(500) was not meant to play long loops I guess. Try chopping a long loop in 4 pieces and trigger those.

Thanks,
I did check all of those things. It turned out my 500 was busted and I wound up exchanging it.
Peace.
