Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

OK so I've decided I want an MPC. To start with all I really want to do is to load samples onto it from my computer and have it play them when I press the pads.... Simple enough. I will be playing it in live performances as part of a band: how easy is it to attach the MPC to speakers for live gigs? I know it's polyphonic, but does this mean it can play two samples at the same time? Or does it need to processors for this? Assuming my MPC will be very basic like this (at least to start with), is the MPC 500 the one to go for? Thanks for your help.

I use the mpc-500 in this way, and it rocks. It can play 32 mono samples at once, or 16 stereo samples at once. Or a mix of those two. It has jack out whitch is ideal for live gigs! The bigger macines have 4 pads extra though. Your call!
