Just finishing the final couple of chapters for the Beat Making on the MPC500 book and while messing with SONG mode, came across a strange thing. If I 'Insert Before' (any sequence at any step), it tends to make some of the steps have a 'Repeat' of 0. This 0 is not editable and has the effect of infinitely looping that particular step when playing the song.

anyone else get this (latest OS, 1.3)?

Yes.

Iam also using 1.13. This is the reason why i don't trust the step edit or song mode on the 500. Its F*ckd. Don't use "insert before"!

That's a pretty poor bug then, not sure why it's gone unnoticed by Akai considering they are on the third revision of the OS. What are you supposed to do if you want to insert an extra step at say, point 23 in a 50 song?

To be honest, compared to all the other recent MPCs, I hate the MPC500, lol. Writing this ebook has been hell on earth as there's so many niggly little OS omissions that really affect what you can do with the machine.

Yes! That is right. I am really mad about all theese "small" bugs. Working on a mpc-500 is like running through a maze! It could have been a cool machine though! I hope that JJ is consittering to make a new software to the 500. This machine REALLY needs it!
