Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hi,

I just found out that the Q-link slider can only be assigned to one single drumpad at a time.

Also during playback the Q-link slider only works when the selected track is the one that is playing the pad that is assigned to the slider!

Originaly I thought the Q-link slider would send it's data to the selected track and control any pad on that track (I thought you could setup the slider for multiple pads).

This sucks, now you can't control multiple sounds by switching between tracks. You also have to go to slider mode and adjust which pad it is assigned to....

yea i thought that was pretty weak too but the 500 is my only mpc, can you control several pads with any other mpc's qlink

At least you can stil recordQ-link events for each pad on different tracks.

Q-Link events are recorded as QL/QT/QF + pad + value on each track so you can control more than one pad at a time. If only slider mode had a pad setting of "as track" that would fix my problem for live use. (OF mode doesn't do the trick)

Snerg- how's the new MPC working out for you? Less buggy, I hope.
