the pads on the 500??

im just about to buy an MPC 500 but i just have one question about the pads, i hear a lot of people complaining about the pressure sensitivity but im not really worried about that.

from what i know, akai outsourced the development of the pads for all MPC models except the 1000, which they developed their own pads for.
the 1000 is notorious for having non-durable pads and i was just wondering does anybody know who made the pads on the 500 and are they more durable than those on the 1000 models??

I have not tried other mpc models, but i have never had any problem with the pads on the 500.
