Infinitely pleased with MPC500

hey 1/2 a K heads what up...relatively new to forum as far as posting. Got 1/2 a K about a year ago and dug in 6 months after I decided ASR-X was just to cumbersome a work flow w/floppies and all. While i'll admit x sound is just crazy but the 500 is so easy to use and sounds very good not to mention the worklfow.

got a roland DJ-70 keyboard for bassline and and rack 12-bit for dirty drums when I need em and a SP-303 I use as a recorder into my floppy hindered mates to my 1/2 a K.

My 3 peices mesh well together...new to MIDI but understand it just need to practice...any tips on MIDI would be welcome to complete my work flow and desire to cut an album in next year or so. I'm sample based with some sounds from sample CDs to fill out parts

hey man welcome to the Mpc 500 side of things... I also use the Mpc 500 In my setup... I Have The MPC 500, MC 808, With The M-Audio Keystation For Midi And To Trigger Sounds On Top Of My Samples...(Including Baselines)

In The Begining I Hated The Mpc 500, But As I Studied It I Began To Love The Thing...

I Like This Set Because The Mc-808 Which Is Used In My Setup For Sounds And Chopping My Samples Into Piece, Is Also A Sampler...(Dont Get Me Started On The Internal Sounds)

What I Can Tell You About Midi Is, Just Practice And I Bet In A Couple Of Weeks You Will Be Doing Ya Thing...

thx man sounds like you got a nice set-up too. i always liked the 808 too, but never got around to getting one. i've heard sound output of 500 was low but when i record thru my echo soundcard and tweak a lil with plug ins it is same as i hear thru headphone output.

will do on midi suggestion...practice practice...
