Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Saw him perform here in Sydney on Saturday night with an MPC500 and a bunch of other toys and gear. Brilliant set! Nice to some big name artists using the 500.

It's nice to hear about another pro-producer using the mpc500.

The other producers I heard using the mpc500 is Mannie fresh.

But Dj numark is closer to my division of beat-making than mannie

I saw J5 Last year and they did a Routine with School Desks that had 1000 built into them(old school beat on the desk Drum style), I wonder if they'll switch that to 500's or not. He did some crazy stuff with the toys.

I think it makes sense to use an MPC500 anyway, as they're easier to take with you overseas, and if you're mostly playing from the pads, you're not gonna need any of the additional features found in the bigger machines anyway. I'm guessing this would have been why he's using the 500.

Yeah that's like the whole purpose of the 500, to be portable. I saw Prefuse 73 and he was rockin the 2500.
