Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

i grabbed a sample CD that was all WAVS in the correct format, most of them loaded but some of the long bass sounds...

they load but don't play.......and show up in the program menu with a question mark before the name.

If I scroll off it then try to scroll back on to it, IT's GONE

Then, when I try to load it again (in load menu), on several different pads it says 'File exists, Replace?' .........but I hadn't already loaded any samples to any of those pads.

Anyone else get this? I just seems 'funny' or 'picky' about these bass samples - the files formats no different though.

Thanks for any responses

I don't really know what the problem could be, but I know if there's a ? by the sample name, then the sample isn't loaded, just assigned to a pad (and it doesn't know what to do). If it says "sample exists, replace?" then it might be because some of the samples you're loading up have the same name. If you load "sample 31" from one folder and "sample 31" from another, it will get rid of the first one when you load a second. If you can't figure out the problem with the bass sounds, you could try sampling the cd.

you're a champ, yeh, i think it's a name issue - there's about 10 of each sample in different notes but they all have the same name.....

there's a post above this that points out the 'long name' problem, it's clicking nicely gents, thankyou

Feel much better
