Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I have been making music for a while but I got my first MPC, a MPC 500, a little while ago and haven't really tried to learn it well yet. The main reason being that I am completely stumped as to why I have so much trouble managing the memory on this thing. It's small potatoes but I want to clear everything and start with 100 fresh sequences etc. and I can't think of any way to do it. When I try to format my Ultra II 2GB CF Card I get "SYSTEM ERROR!!!" and if I try to manually delete files, nothing happens; the flashing light next to do it my blink a little longer but the files seem to still be there. I've tried holding down the erase button while powering up and nothing happens. The OS is the Akai OS version 1.13. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I might be doing wrong or a solution or where to find a solution for such problems?

first i'd download the new o.s. off akaipro.com, then i'd try formatting the flash card in the mpc.

as for the sequences and samples loading up at the start, you have to turn the autoload off.

to turn the autoload off, u hit MODE->PROGRAM, then with the wheel, scrolll to the right until you see autoload. now the autoload is most likely turned 'on'. you're gonna wanna turn that 'off' n u shuld be good to go.
