HELP! saving the placement of samples onto the assigned pads

hey whats up? i got this issue going on with my mpc500.
well, my mpc500 is working fine, it's mostly me that's the problem.

i don't really know how to program the mpc500, and i'm trying to...
you know, figure out some things?

i just bought it like yesterday, and i've figured out how to assign samples on the pads.
i've cleared my 128MB CF Card, and have left it with 48 Free Samples in order to learn how to save the sample placement over the 48 pads, after I've assigned them.

how can i save the placement, so when i turn it off and back on, i can just scroll the data wheel onto sq:05-sequence05 and have the pads/samples i've placed come out without any further programming involved? every time i turn it off and on after saving the sequence (is the sequence even supposed to be saved?) i have to reassign the samples over the pads all over again.

do i have to save the 'sequence' or;
create a new program and save what i've done on it?

how do i create a new program, and later save what i've done?

how do i save the assigned pads so every time i load up the MPC
i can go to sq:05-sequence05 and have the pads already assigned with the samples i've picked out?

where could i really get in touch with certain definitions/functions of this machine?

i've been skimming through the manual and every time i get to where i think i can learn something, i don't understand anything. :[

i've never had any experience with mpc's. but it's something i'm willing to learn how to use because i've seen it's power. im used to using FL Studio and a little bit of Reason, Sony ACID, and Sound Forge. this is my first time ever working with a device like this.
only thing i have similar to it is my MPD16, and i understand to get in full touch with the MPC500 it's going to take a little more than 12 steps and a miracle.

so yeah, what i'm really trying to figure out right now is how to save the assigned pads after i've placed the samples over them in a sequence...
hope some people can help me out with this.

and sorry, im just very very new to this, and extremely lost.

this is done with programs, you can save programs with samples or the entire memory. Hate to shout read the manual, but you really need to, everything *is* covered there.
