you know the F buttons for the mpc 1000-5000, right under the screen for step and edit and track mute and track solo and etc? well i noticed the 500 doesnt hav that and it slows down the workflow a bit (to me at least). so to substitute in the 500, holding down shift+pad11 would be the Fbutton for track mute, shift+pad12 would be track solo, etc.

know what i mean? thats not hard for an os to do at all, and it would speed up the work flow wen recording a track to just solo and mute the track instead of having to change screens.

with that, shift plus other pads can be other things since shift+pad# isnt used in sequence/track mode.

The MODE button replaces the Function button (F key) on the 500. The mode button is kind is like a pivot point for all functions on the 500 (like the use of the shift key described in your posts). It really doesn't interrupt work flow too much after the second or third track made with the 500

nah man, the mode button still makes u change screens. what im saying is if the f buttons never had to change the screens. thats the lag with the 500 that u gotta browse through more screens, im used to it, but it will still be a faster workflow if somehow they incorporated that Fbutton = shift+pad

Ah, i hear you! But i have no problems with this at all. In fact i likes this better than the 2500's "F" buttons.

In which way?

Keys don't work. In this way I can't set the mpc in USB mode (for example. I can't do anything).
Works just the data wheel and pads...

In which way I can reset the system manually? Is it possible?
Exist some combination of keys to do this?

I think is better to send the machine in warranty for a change. I've just purchased it one week ago and can't play anything.

And how does that chop shop thing work?

basically you can load up chopped files from a 2500 or 1000 and it'll work in the 500. and i dunno what a global selected track is.

I've only got the 500, so I don't know exactly how chop shop on the other mpc's works...
Is that like a wave-file (ONE FILE) with markers in it? Or is the sample already split up into chops (SEVERAL FILES) and saved as a program?

by the way... is there an alternative to create such a chop shop file on the computer?
