do pads soften with time?

And from what ive experienced and read the standard sensors underneath the pads will eventually die and need to be replaced.
So it seems that no matter what make of MPC you have your pads will eventually die on you, either one by one or all at once!

I got the chance to try a new 500 and compare it to my older model and must say that the pads gets "better" over time, more responsive. They tend to get softer, but that's not a bad thing! (until they die). Dont worry i must say

Just like a guitar when you have to replace the strings the MPC is just another instrument, new sensors will run you about $50.00, not a bad investment if it last a few years.

the MPC has absolutely nothing in common with a guitar.

Sure their both instruments so to speak, but realistically the comparison between the two is ridiculous.
