M-audio UNO...Should I keep it?

I'm really starting to learn my 500 but I have this M-audio UNO and I don't know what to do with it. I don't know a thing about MIDI at all, I can't lie. Help or it's hitting ebay.

I believe that m audio uno is to hook up a keyboard or controller to the computer, that way you can record whatever u play, onto your daw. (Somebody correct me if im wrong) so if u dont have a keyboard or a controller, i doubt u would need it. Im not sure if u can hook up your mpc500 to the comp that way but u should try.
