Sequencer - With a USB link between mpc 500 and pc

ok, first of all, with no midi involved, is there any way to program the sequencer of the mpc 500

alternatively if I do get hold of a usb/midi interface for my pc - what is the best program to program the sequencer for the mpc 500.

I know there are some good programs to assign pads to samples - but in terms of using the sequencer (and really into building songs) are there any particulary popular/easy to use programs known of on this forum.

the mpc has a very powerful and versatile sequencer built into it, if thats what your talking about. if your talking about tracking your songs out of your mpc and into some software, then you have a alot of options.

free ones like audacity work well, or if you really wanna get into it, get pro tools or something more capable.
