Help with buying a mixer

I have a stanton t.60 and the mpc500..a shitload of records and a shitload of drum sounds. I hear i just need a mixer,or a preamp to hook up the tt to my mpc. I've searched and read some of the other posts about this..i know what wires i need -the rca to 1/4 , I was just wondering if anyone could guide me to some good mixers/preamps.
i'm looking to spend up to $250.00

oh..alot of those covers are beat up,but the records are good. Not warped.
I really wanna flip that Korla Pandit shit(top left corner of all the vinyls) that shit will be hot!

For a DJ mixer, check out the Stanton SA3 on ebay. It's a solid mixer for the price.

OH i didnt know u need a mixer to hook up the turntable to the mpc to sample??? is that the case?? (another expense on my hands now!)

So we do we get one of those dj mixers or a console mixer like a mackie? and if money isn't much of an issue wat model u guys reccomend? wat features should i look for in the mixer.

ive been reading up on mixers lately too. theres a wealth of info in these boards just use the search tool.
for the turntable youll need a dj mixer as it offers the phono pre-amp. otherwise if you arent going to dj, u can just buy a cheaper dedicated phono pre-amp.

as for the other mixer i hear generally speaking yamaha, allen&heath and mackie are all reliable brands. just dont go near a behringer (which is ironic that i say that as im getting a behringer myself but thats another story!)

i have used the search,and thanks for the people that have been posting..I will NOT be djing i just want to basically sample vinyl,That's ALL! so i should go with a preamp? or how about the NUMARK DMX-03 found here- http://www.sixstardj.com/numarkdmx03.html would this be good to use for what i'm trying to do?

Yeah can get a phono preamp for like $20 from Radio Shack.

you have technics already? wasnt quite clear on that.
If thats the case than your going to need a good preamp mixer. Hell i use a cheap ass gemini and it gets the job done.
That being said you could also find a cheap sony or pioneer belt drive turntable that already has a built in preamp.
best buy and circuit city have these turntables for a quick fix if thats what your looking for.

if your just using it to sample from, and you have a T.60, technically you don't need a mixer. The T.60 i believe sends a Line Level Output, check in the back, thers a switch should select between Phono/Line. If you switch it to line, and run RCA's out into the input of your MPC, then it will be fine. Levels will be fine and all, no worries.

A Mixer would help though, cas you can EQ and you have more overall control. The SA.3 is definitley a nice one, try googling it too...some stores are selling it for cheap cas they dont make em anymore

edit on that: you don't need a mixer or a pre-amp. The T.60 will shoot out a line level output, giving you the volume you need to sample into the MPC. just make sure that switch on the back of the turntable is set to LINE

The T60 does not output line level, I own one.

If you have no need for a mixer go ahead and get a ordinary phono preamp from Radio Shack.
