Gosh, now it REALLY looks useless!
Why didn't you just stick foil in the pads like it says on the 1000 board?
Does "forum" mean, "place to spew pointless negativity"?
After testing other modifications, this one proved to be superior, as it offers maximum sensitivity, least required effort to trigger on full, and the widest range of pressure detection. Plus the pads, when flipped upside down, fit inside the grooves lying flush with the sensors.
This gives you the option to play the rubber when you feel like it and get the same benefits as the other hacks of filling in the gap. Then when you want to do something requiring subtle control of pressure, just take them off, and it feels like using a computer touchscreen.

You really are a pussy huh?
"his requires you to apply excessive force when triggering the pad with your fingers. This hurts and does not allow for a full range of subtle velocity expression. "
hurts your fingers? hahah have you ever tried playing a guitar, damn youd have a field day with your whinging.
Man up holmes.

This is 2009, it would be, "manning down", because some of us have progressed beyond the brute ways of previous mankind. Conscious self-destruction is not a desirable trait to be proud of, it is the mark of a being who is not aware enough to appreciate the delicacy of his condition, and confident enough to pursue higher paths outside the accepted ways of his community.
You are one step removed from the grunting tribesman pounding on leather drum to ignite excitement in preparation for sex or war. This machine, built on the intellectual works of sensitive men, is a toy to keep the monkey content in its cage, pounding away as if he were still of the jungle, oblivious to the zoo around him. That is what you feel pride in "manning" up to?
Man is on his way out. Species change, and your battle wounds of tribal behavior will have no weight. Like a pile of cow feces baking in the sun, you will dry up, decay, and blow off into dust. Out of your putrid waste will arise a new way, a new day, where clothed apes don't pass the time tapping on hunks of plastic, forming meaningless monkeyscript in global mind.
I am pussy. You are man. Which one of us should be proud?

Well, that is one way to solve a minor inconvenience. Its a first (for a drum machine at least) as far as I know.
The padless drum machine!
It looks like a magnet for general shmutz underneath the edges of the face place and inside the machine though.
Or is your serious studio inside of a bubble like that kid from seinfeld?
("Its moors you idiot!")
BTW: Lol @ inflict3. For the caveman thing, or for him tearing apart his MPC?

Just put a small piece of 1mm rubber underneath each pad. It works great!!
I think that removing the pads is not to remove the problem.
I have a problem with the display, should i remove that?
