Yeah I'm convinced that JJ would make an awesome OS.

The ability to chop samples by tapping pads and automatically map the extracted selection to the just tapped pad.

Fvck chopshop!

I was reading some previous posts and the one fundamental thing it lacks is a mixer/track levels. In the abscence of multiple outs and the rather substandard sample level adjustment, why would it be so hard?

it needs soundlevel adjustment when the sample is played from trim mode.
normalizing hihats is almost unusable.

record mode> record>assign>trim mode>normalizing>program mode>sample level>record mode>main-outresampling>assign>program mode>sample level

hallo...

It really needs a loop end so it can make those filter sweeps!!!
So you have sample start, sustain-loop start, sustain-loop end, and sample end.

Also needs attack and decay on the filter.

Both somthing that should be easy to imcorporate!

That would be great news! But what is your source?

Also, what other post?

The source was Akai but we have removed the post pending further details.

Great! Any hints on what we can expect? Just bug fixes or any new features?

Any ETA?

THE WAIT IS OVER!!!!

1.12 released on akaipro.com

And THIS is the list of changes:

1 Added support for up to 32 mute groups.
2 Added support for up to 128 programs.
3 Pad On threshold reduced.
Bug Fixes
1 Fixed Bug: WAV file size was misreported under certain conditions.

Greeeeat stuff. They couldn't even fix the simple, really pesty things, like having to scroll from the beginning of the sample list for every single pad. Also, seems the bug I have reported and AKAI confirmed like two months ago wasn't fixed. Just super...

Remind me to never buy akai gear again. =/

That's it?

Yep, seems like it. Just downloaded and tested, and the bug I reported previously (recordings being erroneously copied if you switch sequence without hitting stop after recording/overdub) is still there, even though akai confirmed the bug more than two months ago.

I am seriously considering selling my 500 right now... =/
