Help! Mpc samples in Mono?!

it is on P:Mid

Starting to sound that the support dude was right it being defective. If it's just 1 day old then the best thing is to send it back (it's covered in warranty).

when i am in program mode and press the pad which i assigned the sample to the sample level is on P:Mid

if i pan the pad sample to P:R50 i hear nothing but if i pan it to P:L50 or P:Mid i hear it on the left speaker of my headphones...


it seems to be deffect ? so i have to resend it to the shop i bought it from ?

Yeah with a brief description of the problem and that you contacted Akai support etc. Resampling (recording songs/sequences/samples) with mpc500 shouldn't cause this behavior we have discovered here.

i think i got the issue:

when i press mode + record and scroll all to the end it says "Free =00m20s"

i tried to record more then 20s which are free and suddenly at 20s the record stops becaus i dont have enough space. Now, when i stop the recording before the maximum of 20s is reched lets say at 15s then i can assign the sample to a pad and hear on both sides but very quiet could this be the thing i did wrong ?

Oh! tbh I've never went over the available rec time. But if that sorted your problems then all good. Recommend you get the extra ram so you get 12m02s free sampling time

weird glitch nevertheless, but might be that all 500's do the same thing when you go over the available time.

than i got another question, what have i to delete or how i delete that i can record over 20seconds ? I think it must be possible to record more then 20seconds with no extra memory ?!

And furtheremore: At which threshold should i record ? The standard is -48 but when i record it is much to quiet as before wehen i play

and how i can change the volume of each instrument or each specific track ?

Samples take most of your working memory (ram). Turn off "autoload" so that you have the most ram available when you turn on the mpc. LOAD-mode scroll to "Load:Autoload" and change it to "off".

Threshold is just for starting the recording when mpc receives the input signal (when signal goes over the threshold, recording starts).

That's done in the program mode. You have a program holding your samples, selected on a specific track, playing as a part of a sequence.

It's something in the settings. I noticed some of my pads playing in mono. Not the correct mono (mono is meant to play in BOTH ears; when mono plays through a stereo route it only plays in one.) but just one ear.
I wasn't worried about it at the moment but it was clearly just a setting issue I didn't feel like messing with at the moment.
If I'm wrong then I'm not following what you're saying.
