also, i've been using my phone a lot on the go.
I have an android i've been uploading my wavs into ringdroid which is meant for building ringtones, but it's always an alternative as well.
the wav editing has worked out well for me on that ! :)

I use Edison in FL Studio after adding the markers in Sony SoundForge to cut my samples. I know this software ain't free but I know you can find it for free somewhere on the interwebs. Lol. Hit me up on PM if you need those links boss.

No but for real, use whatever these guys tell you; it's good information.
Other than that, as far as anything free, I'd tell you to use Audacity.
It's about as good as SoundForge, for something free at least.

i`m also using the beatbutcher now :D great software, it would be awesome if you could move the markers like the rulers in photoshop (drag n drop)... is there any way to do that? :D

I am thinking about picking up a 500 due to portability.
Any updates to Beatbutcher as it seems the site is down?

When its down its down and everything else but there's Beatcleaver as a better alternative and it has timestretch plus many many chop features.

Thank you for that as beatcleaver looks very feature rich for a sample based beat maker. I also have been reading a WHOLE LOT from all of your wonderful posts about the in-depth features of the 500. I thinking "loving the numbers" and chopping by ear as how the 500 is meant to be might be the better alternative. What are your thoughts?

For me, number chopping is prefered because I like manipulating the numbers with a calculator and simple math formulas. I get chops that stick in the beat and spliced equally. Or sometimes I don't even chop at all, I'll just copy the sample to many pads and make adjustments to the Start points so every pad hits a different part of the sample and I don't trim the End points.

Computer assistance for chopping is fast. On the 500, you are cutting with a knife. The computer is like a blender that chops it quick and slices it for you. I'm just very skilled with the knife and fast as a blender.

Guy B, ive been using the patchphrase editor and bbmpc you have up on github. Gotta say its amazing and great work. I was wondering if there was any updates for the bbmpc (not the patchphrase editor), as i noticed u have put up the original beta for bbmpc? Dont get me wrong, im happy to even have the beta version as its been a saving grace for my 500. Anyways, i would gladly pay via paypal for any update or even for the original software as you have clearly put time and effort into it. Much respect, and please please please get back to me regarding any available updates for the bbmpc. Peace and Bless

You did read the entire thread right? That github is a bootleg site and probably just has the old files copied. Guy b won the lotto and abandoned ship many moons ago. Catch him sipping martinis and watching the sunset in Rio.
