Are you sure that you know how to operate it? If you turn on Full Level, you do not need to pound on anything.
Well..I have a first generation MPC 2500 and 3000...owned first gerneration MPC 4000s and 2000/2000XLs....I was pretty much happy with all of them. Were their quirks with initial operating systems? Yes..but they served their purpose better than anything else on the market. Which is the reason why MPCs have been used for almost 20 years....
Alternatives...you can always purchase similar gear from Roland that may fit your needs....
