The only place I've ever actually seen one is at Guitar Center.

Where?

Guitar Center... they got Akai's whole first shipment of MPC500s... so no one else has them.

The thing that bothered me most was lack of audio outs. I had to be honest with myself and figured the cash could be spent elsewhere....like an MPC2500. I still think it is cool if you travel or are away from home alot.

yea true.. the 2500 is the bomb!!... its made more or less for like techno or synth and shyt.. thats one reason y i dont like it.. most ppl with 2000xl's use that shyt mainly for like hip hop or sumthing.. thats my opinion.. and yea i no they use it for othr things... the 500 is to expensive,... ur better off with a 2500 1000 or a mpd24

I changed my mind...I'm sticking with a 1000 and adding a 500. I will buy the 500 in a month or so.

But the mpd can't stand up to be compared to an mpc at all.

Oh.......ok I didn't know you had a 1000!!1 Yeah man, that's the better choice just get the 500!!1 (I'm sure you already know this) I'm hearing that the JJ OS gets big props and brings the 1000 pretty close to the 2500. I say this ignorantly, but have you thought about upgrading too the JJ OS?? :D

I have no need for that OS. I do all of my editing in computer andd use my MPC as a sample sequencer and synth sequencer. The main things I like about the MPC series is the fact that you can stack 4 different samples on each pad...and the fact that you can use the 16 pads function to play chromatically. Both of those are on the regular OS.
