Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

New to having an mpc but I think I have a serious problem. I make a beat and save the sequence. When I load the sequence it loads but there is no sound. Am I doing something wrong when saving/loading or is this a known bug with the 500. It really is annoying because every time I turn it on I have to start my work all over again.

Thanks

George

i think in order to save a beat sucessfully, u should make a new folder for the beat and save these 3 things. (i'm not even sure if this is right but)

1. sequence (saves the order u play your sounds)
2. program (saves the sounds)
3. all seq&song (saves the effects)

*tip* to make a new folder, u hit MODE->SAVE and press the 'DO IT' button. then highlight the top portion, it should say 'SAVE TO' and change it to 'NEW FOLDER'. and the bottom portion is where you want to save the folder to. after you hit 'DO IT' again it gonna ask you to name the file, once you name the file, hit 'DO IT' one last time and u just made a new folder.

You need to load the programs and/or samples that you used to make the sequence. The seq file (correct me if i'm wrong) just tells your box what pads to play when, and what program to play that pattern through. Load the programs and/or samples as well as the sequence and it should play.

Read your manual 'fore you come on here dude. I mean that is serious newb stuff right there. Nobody else had this problem if they read their manual. I'm not trying to come off as an ass, but come on....

yes, but do it in a new folder cos everything means everything, seqs, pgms samples etc
