Bar Chopping

Hi everyone. Been reading this forum for over a year now and its been really helpful.
This is the first time I've had to post and I can't seem to find an answer for it anywhere.
Okay, here's the deal....
I chop a bar within a sequence from say 4/4 to 2/4 in sequence paramaters mode.
Play it back in sequence and its great, just the 1/2 chopped up sound I want.
However, when its played back in song mode, it ALWAYS overlaps into the next sequence, like a kind of horrible echo / stutter, which ruins the effect. The sample is in one shot, mono and not poly, so I can't figure out why it does this.
Does anybody else have this problem?

deadbeatclive: Dude, don't do that in sequence params mode. This way you just cut sequence length, not sample's. That is why it keeps playing in song mode. Your sample is One shot and Mono. When it's One Shot and Mono, every time the same sample is triggered, the previously triggered note will be cut down. That is why you have no problems listening to it in sequence mode. Try making it Poly and play the sequence. It will overlap.

Now, there are some options for you to consider. You can: cut the sample in Trim mode OR make it the Note on, instead of One shot. Once it's Note on, you can easily edit the note length in Step edit mode, so it is exactly the same length as the respective sequence.
