Do you think the mpc500 will be able to access the whole 32gb cf?

I don't think you get the whole 32gb. 4gb, yes.

See my logic for why this shouldn't be a problem in the linked post above. Your celling is probably whatever FAT32's celling is.

What you said in the other post makes alot of sense and I see no reason why one couldn't use a 32gb card. I just want to know if anyone has been using a 32gb card and if so have they had any problems with it

Hi there, it will work but it will also slow down your machine when you load, save and audition from the card. You would be better of with many 2 gig cards.
cheers

I don't understand if a card bigger than 2G's would work why wouldn't Akai use this as a selling point? There has to be a good reason I would assume.

This..

I think it's just a balance between storage and functionality. Ever notice how much slower a 2gb card loads on the usb pc connection compared to the supplied 128 card? Anything bigger would be a hell of a wait. Akai isn't going to advertise anything bigger than a 2gb card cause then you'll lose the functionality of their weak ass usb connection. My advice, lose the usb cable and get a cheap external CF card reader that has a usb 2.0 connection. It will reduce that long wait to just a few seconds.
