MPC 500 to 1000 or 1000 to 500

Hi i have a MPC 500 and just got a 1000. since the 500 only has 12 pads...if i make a beat on the 1000 and load it on the 500 will it load properly? im assuming it would work if i made it on the 500 and loaded it on the 1000 right?
