Question about memory management

Hi guys! I ordered an MPC500 and I got some questions about the memory and ram.
MPC 500 come with 16mb of ram stock, we all know that, but how much internal memory the MPC got?
In the manual it says that you cannot save files bigger that 5mb.
I started to convert my samples to .akp with recycle and noticed that I got a some programs with .wav files that weight 20/30mb.
Do I need to expand my Ram so I can get these programs loaded?
Does the loaded sample goes in the ram or the internal memory or are they read from the Compact Flash.

They will be loaded up in RAM. THe 5mb is internal flash memory, in case u've nothing else to save to. I never use the internal memory.

If u want to load in those big ass programs, u'll need the ram expension.
Or find a better way to chop. I don't know ur method of working, but 20- 30 mb of samples in one single program is way more then a average mpc user loads up for just one track.

16MB of Ram is Internal Memory that comes with the MPC. If you want to upgrade to 128MB which is max you need a 128MB SDRAM SODIMM PC133 CL3 Memory. Its basically older laptop memory. This will give you more sample time.

I tried this 128MB SDRAM PC133 CL3 and it didnt work. I tried 256MB SDRAM SODIMM PC133 CL3 and it worked..but now im having problems. The MPC keeps resetting. once the stick is in there. I think its because the memory slot on the MPC is kind of loose. Does anyone else have problems with memory??

Oh maybe he just don`t know "memory management trick" used in oldschool hiphop days when one had 256 KB or luckily 750Kb unexpandable memory for whole song.
