Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

So I am having a problem where, when I make up a beat, I do the sample, then the drums, but if I add more then the kick and the snare with fx on it, it makes it so my samples dont play all the way thru..like when I try to add the hi-hat, it will make the sample chops only play 1 beat of the sample, when each chop is 2 beats

Any help is appreciated, thanks

Do you know how voice overlap and mute groups work? Are they set properly?

Do you have the newest OS?

I still have the 16mb ram, I only just got the mpc a few days ago

I know about voice overlap, and mute groups..I pretty much figured out everything on the mpc..and yeah I have the newest OS

I was thinking maybe its cause my ram is still small, that it cant handle all that at once..but I am new to the mpc, so i dont know if thats the reason, or if there is some other cause for the problem

Get the RAM and the problem will probably go away. I used to have this problem before I got the upgrade and now I don't have it. I never gave it a test to see if the lack of RAM caused it, but I don't run into it now that I have it so it's a pretty safe bet that it will fix it.
Plus you'll increase your sample time 10 fold.
