Hit Pads and the Rest MUTE??? : (

Well i have a **** problem

i've the MPC 500 (of course) with FULL OPTION (inkl. 128 MB RAM & 512MB CF CARD)

sometimes, when i've a sample, add some snares, hi hats etc.... but when i want doin' the kicks, then i'll hit 2x (for example) the PAD which is with a KICK, and then the sample is gonna mute and i only hear the hi hats and snare....

or the same thing, when i'll do a bassline or something...

why is this?

Polyphony: up to 32 voices (dependent on processing) < I believe that's probably ya problem... I have that happen to me sometime too but what I notice sometime if your in record mode and you hit a pad (with a kick for example) & you don't hear nothing, sometimes even tho you don't hear it it will register or show up on the next bar. I emphasize the word "sometimes"

either that or if you happen to have the kick (or anything) in a mute group with other drums or samples it could be getting cut off.

make sure non essential samples are mono and not stereo, that will eat poly without you noticing. If you need a sample to actually be stereo, then do so, but otherwise make them mono, you can still pan them

check mute groups, happened to me first time i got my 500. i went crazy till i found out that the samples where jsut in the same mute group, so they cancelled each other out wen either one of them played

first, i thought also my problem means MUTE GROUPS, but it wasn't this. i can't find the reason, why is this....

i formatted my CF Card and downloaded the OS 3.31 again.... now it works (till now )

OS 1.31 is the latest ... we haven't got to O.S. 3.31 yet, I look forward to that tho,lol

but by the way: it's time to update 1.31 and brig a new OS. maybe with auto chop :p ? it's still a dream hehe

I find chopping easier on my 500 then my 60, why does everyone want chopshop lol

call me crazy, but i actually enjoy chopping on the 500. maybe even more than on the comp. maybe

i don't know what the **** is up with my mpc ....

but now it doesn't works .... -.-
