Having problems sampling...

I've had my 500 for about a month, but only recently I've been playing with it quite a bit. Anyways, whenever I playback a sample it's sounds perfect also when I go to trim it, but when I assign it to a pad and in program mode it becomes extremely distorted and slow. I'm new with this stuff and I really have an urge to make some ill shit. It's probably something little but your guys' help would be greatly appreciated. Peace.

Create a new program and RTMFM.

It sounds like you've got a bunch of effects and settings all screwy in sequence mode.
Reset all your pitch/filter/effects/etc settings to neutral.

They're all found under the program mode or the effects mode buttons.
But they can be confusing if you've never done it before, so at least peruse those sections of the manual.

Page 73 tells you how. I would turn off the autoload feature too, those presets just interfere with creativity.

A new program is like a clean sheet of paper and you can do whatever. But the programs you were using already had data in them even though you putted fresh samples in, thats from the factory. Just delete them if you want, I always get rid off presets.

Hah, the first thing I did when I got my 500 was turn off autoload.
