Record Help

Hey I just bought the MPC500 yesterday and I'm a NOOB with it.

Is there a way you can shorten/lengthen the recording time when you hit record and play? like instead of it going 1.01-2.04 can it go like 1.01-3.01?

And is there any good free tutorials on the MPC500? I'm reading the instruction manual that came with it but just so I can have some online resources I would like to know of one!

alright yeah I prefer videos but whatever if you guys aren't going to just give me some reliable sources then its cool I guess.

And I searched Google but I thought I would ask on your guys opinions. :?

Theese questions is asked over and over again. Search the forum og digg the manual. It's not that har to find.

okay I'll try that but I'm not too sure exactly what to search.

*EDIT* okay so I found a post called time stretching, but I'm not sure what there talking about they said some stuff about BTM's and stuff? I don't understand. Anyone care to explain to me further about this? :roll:

really just read the manual cover to cover, its really not a hard machine to use, if you sre still stuck read the manual over again. If that doesnt solve your porblem sell the 500.

If you cant be bothered to read the manual, sell the 500, cos thats the easy part.

You're new to this, aint you? Have you ever used a machine like the MPC? Then I advise you to fool around with it and keep the manual next to you when you get confused. Its basic knowledge what you're asking.

BPM is ''Beats Per Minute'' and the concepts and terminology of things can all be found in the manual. There's books on this stuff but I never bought any because I've learned more from the manuals, I have alot of manuals for different machines.

Reading and experiencing is the way to go.
