Need help on editing the sound of the sample and saving song

Hey guys, new to the site and just picked up my 500. I was wondering how to make the sample so that when you keep pressing it, it's wont overlap and echo. Some samples that are on the sample kit do this, but others don't. I want to be able to keep pressing the same pad and have it repeat by starting over without playing out the full samle. Kinna like the effect you get when you keep hitting the the "locate < " button

Also having issues saving. I'm using the card that came with the 500. I went through the process to save, but when I go to load the project, the file name is there, but the beat I saved doesn't play and I pads won't play the samples. Thanks guys

i got the xl but it should be the same..just go into program mode, hit the pad u wanna do it to and change the overlap part to mono. it should say poly right now since its overlappin but just change that to mono and u should be good2go.

Cool thanks. Still having problems saving. I'm pist. Just spent an hour on a beat and when I tried to save it as a sequence, I couldn't. I don't even want to touch this thing till I learn how to save what I make. Frustrating. Wish I coulda saved that one.

I tried following the saving tutorials on youtube, but still won't save.
