PLEASE HELP ME CHOOSE A NEW MPC. I WANNA STAY WITH AKAI BECAUSE CLEARLY THEY ARE THE BEST SAMPEL WORKSTATIONS. BUT YEAAA IM THINKING MAYBE THE 2500?

Ask yourself why r u thinking about the 2500, does it have something or do something that u need, what?

Thats true man. Where can i really read like the difference between the 1000 and 2500, and the reason im selling my 500 is because it was really weird to work with; i hear the higher versions are harder to learn but better to work with? as u can see im new to this mpc thing but passionate. LOL

You do want a sampler right? You said it was weird to work with the sampler. The button presses might be a little bit different/fewer on the 1k/2.5k, but they are not night and day different. At the end of the day it's still the same workflow.
The MPC 500 isn't that weird. Diffs between 1k and 2.5k are minimal, especially if you upgrade to JJOS.

QFT... if you can "get it" on the 1k/2.5k then you should be able to go back to the MPC 500 and appreciate it better.

Get a 5000, you'll have 4 more pads and a few other features that ain't all that and it will cost you $1500.00+ more than the 500...oh yea the screen is real pretty too! All that aside though it basically has the same engine and does what the 500 does when used in conjunction with a pc.

500 is maybe harder to work with because of the small screen. Lot of sub menu's that keeps u scrolling. No wave editing.
If u miss that then I would suggest a 1k or 2500. In features they're identical. Difference between those two is hardware like the bigger pads, tilt screen and more outs.
But all mpc's work roughly the same: sample in rec menu, chop and edit in trim menu, assign to a program and set ur params/settings, then sequence.

Whats fruity loops? lol... actually yes that might be the way to go if this guy thinks the work flow is "weird" on a mpc.

Hey i was just skimming thru and came across this JJOS thing. Is this an upgrade for the 500? If so would you mind telling me a bit about this?
