sample problem

So I recorded a short sample and set it to a pad in a new program. The problem is that the sample sounds distorted and is noticeably less bright than the recorded version. In the program the sample level is set to 100. The thing is that when I play the sample in trim mode it sounds great! It sounds exactly like the original. How can the sample literally sound completely different in trim mode than in sequencing mode?

You may have velocity, filter or other settings that are changing the performance of the sample during playback.

make sure you have full level on and check if there are any effects set to that pad

sample is at full level and I have checked the effects settings and none are on... this is weird.

Did you try the master volume in Other mode?

I have read the entire manual and he is my best bud. The output volume is at -12db, any higher and it REALLY distorts! I guess I'll just try to rerecord the sample and see what happens.

Really distorts?

I got mine at 0dB and its fine.

Maybe you should adjust the master level to 0dB and try to sample those sounds again. It might be that the distortion is caused by a change from the original volume to a higher one. But if the volume was set high before sampling then there should be no cause for distortion.
