I just got a memory upgrade off of ebay that is kingston 256mb. When I install it in my MPC 500 I keep getting one of two codes when I turn the machine on:
Inv. gen. inst.
PC (8843eac0)
or
Inv. gen. inst.
PC (88487392)
These codes cannot be cleared out of the machine and I cannot use the MPC at all until I remove the memory chip and it resets to 16 MB standard memory.
I can't find any information on these codes could someone please let me know if they have ran into this problem. Thanks.
Also, on occasion now it will run a SODIMM test. All 4 tests go to 100% completion as if the memory is not damaged, but then the tests just start over again in a continuous loop.
