Arranging Samples

I want to use my MPC500 to play lots of samples live.

I'm wondering about the best way to save and load my work.

1) Is the best way to fill banks a-d on one program and then perhaps load another programme mid gig or is there any other handy way of saving over 48 samples for one performance.

2) Once i've editted my sample on a certain pad in programme mode - is there a way of moving the editted work to another pad / pad on another programme? Basically i want to be rearrange my samples as the live set changes.

3) Can you save the effects you put on a sample in effect mode to a programme so they'll load automatically.

1) This entirely depends on you and what you find easier... changing banks on one program... or changing tracks to access different programs. At least with different tracks you can name the track and see what 'sample' set you are using... bank A-D forces you to memorize what's on each bank.

2) I don't believe that there is a program mode 'copy' pad settings to another pad, though I may be wrong. Check the manual. I know on the 1k/2.5k with JJOS this is trivial, but I recall it being an added feature in OS2. If you need to do this, I'd suggest using some computer software such as MPCMaid or Blue Box or something to speed up the process.

3) I forget, but I believe that Effects are a sequence setting, and change as you change sequences. Again, I'd read the manual for this info.
