MPC 500 - Trigger Midi phrases

Hi guys,
I have been thinking about getting an MPC500 to solve a portability issue. I want to store different midi phrases in the MPC and assign a different midi phrase to each pad so I can trigger them in a live setting. Is it something that can be easily done with the MPC500?
Has anyone tried to use an MFC 10 Yamaha foot controller to avoid having to use the pads?

You can store midi phrases in tracks, and then mute/unmute them while they are playing...

Probably not what you want to do though.

You are right. i did not want to go with a software solution but it seems that Ableton live + Fc 300 is a good way to go.

You could always record a loop/one shot sample to trigger from the pad, if you wanted to use the MPC 500 still.

Just depends on what compromises you are willing to make.
