MPC sequenced by external drum machine - MIDI TROUBLE!!!

Hi, i got an An200 groovebox from Yamaha, with 4 different midi channels assignables.
When i connect it to my Proteus 2000 everything is fine: AN200 triggers 4 different Proteus channels, each with a different instrument.
BUT if i try the same thing with my MPC500 i got a SURPRISE! I can hear samples from one mpc track only, and only if i have that track selected in the display! If i change display track, BOOM, no sounds at all.
So WHERE ARE THE OTHER 3 CHANNELS??? AAARGH!!!

MPC seems to not recognise what midi channel is receiving, so i hear all 4 AN200 channels data MERGED!!!

How can i trigger 4 different instruments/midi tracks from my groovebox to the MPC???

The MPC 500 is not multiple-timbral

You can use the internal sequencer to do what you want, but unfortunately this doesn't work with external sequencers.
