MPC500 hardware modifications

Are there no hardware hackers here who successfully pimped their MPC500? One of the ideas in my mind is replacing the AAA.batterie slots with a large accumulator to improve the poor battery time. I'm thinking about putting some kind of notebook accu and the required charger-electronic within the MPC.

Dang dude, I really want to do that, but have no need. These Samson monitors that I got from Sweetwater, already have an amp in them. Best purchase ever. However, now I'm in the market for an MPC 2500, because I don't think the MPC 500 has enough for me. Namely, just the 16 pads and the effects board. That amp does look cool tho. Maybe I won't have to sell my MPC 500 now.
