Call local studios or look and see if you can find any synth museums or something like that in your area.

Or just buy a cf/sd micro flash recorder... go to a local music store and hook the recorder into the headphone jack. If somebody asks what you are doing tell them you're just recording a few ideas to take back home and see if you like how it fits in with the rest of your studio.

I just want to say a big thanks for the MPC 500 sounds. My CF card didn't come with any decent kits, just some laughters and applauses, so I reformatted my card and have been looking for the MPC 1000 sounds ever since. The MPC 500 is a decent substitute for the time being though. So once more:

Thank You!

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but does anyone happen to have the image of the original MPC 500 128MB card?

The links have expired...

Yes please, if anyone sees this, I'd be interested in these as well. Thanks!

The very kind person I bought my MPC500 from notified me that the MPC1000-page has a download which will most likely be the same sounds/files.

Can't confirm this myself, but it sounds very likely. I tried it and indeed it works fine on the MPC500.
It's a <4MB download, so as it seems the 128MB CF-card originally wasn't filled to the brim, OK.
