I wondered the same thing about the corx, but tried 3 layers of electrical tape on each pad sensor, and it works really good for me. There was a dramatic difference in sensitivity. Now I don't have to mash the pads just to push Save.

I used the wider 1-1/2" electrical tape and cut little rectangles in a very crude manner, nothing fancy, roughly around the sensor size. Tried 3 layers, works good, thats all she wrote.

Found info on the forums a while back.

Still wonder about the cork though..

im really recommending those corx. you barely have to touch the pads. dont really know what akai whas thinking when they programmed/made the sensitivity on the 500 pads. to me the corx have brought new life to my 500, now i dont have to smash the s..t out of it when drumming:)

Yeah maybe the glue has loosen or you placed the corks a little off which can trigger neighboring pads. Gotta place them correctly and press down hard on those things for them to work properly.

Did you checked the installation video?

yes, they are working now, i cleaned the sensors 2, but i saw this comment on youtube "It seems like a good fix - but in dry weather, cork can become brittle and flaky. Are these cork inserts laminated? If they are not, constant impact (from hitting pads) and natural degradation (from the binding agents breaking down because of age and relative humidity) will cause them to chip and become pitted. It would be wise to stay away from this product, and instead use squares of silicone or latex. This is going inside your MPC, you don't want bits of cellulose bouncing around.

dont know if the corx is such a good solution, they are easily to remove though, dont now if that is good, because maybe then they will move around easily hmmm, time will tell.
