sincing

I just got a mpc 500 and an mpk 25 I have FL studios I know the 500 pretty well but my big question is how do i sinc my 500 to my mpk to fl studios is it possible In the manual it is im just not geting it down PLEASE some one help me with this

well first things first, it depends on what you mean by synch-ing... you can do some of the following:

-use the mpc as a pad controller
-use the mpc as a sequencer instead of the one in fl studio which doesn't have a huge advantage
-set it up to record the songs from the mpc into fl studio... which is not actually synching but does involve connecting a cable to the computer...



it depends on what you are trying to achieve...

Your terminology is confusing.

Tell us what you want each piece of the puzzle to do.

I'd also suggest looking several pages deep in this forum for any relevant threads on this...

Im basically just trying to find out if I can make beats on the mpc then put down a baseline with the mpk and run them both in FL studios and also My cpu has a slot for the compact flash card for my mpc and I wanted to know if I can put that in the slot and put new samples straight to the card of if I can take some of the samples through mpc usb to cpu and take samples from FL studios but the main thing is how or if I can link up the mpc with the mpk and run them both ath the same time into FL

Sorry for the crazy terms I dont know if you see what I wrote to the other guy Im just trying to get my akai 500 to work with my mpk25 I know there is no internal sounds but I have Fl studios and the usb runs into the mpk to power it I dont have an charger for it so basically im just wondering how I can get both of those to work together cause I basically want to lay down like the baseline from the mpk cause its much easier with that THANks for you guys support

The MPK doesn't have a midi port on the back, only USB.

Don't ever buy a keyboard without a midi port unless you know what you are doing.

You cant easily use an MPK with an MPC500, but it can be used in FL for entering notes and midi data.

Hook up your MPK to FL via the usb to the comp, this way you can triggers noises from FL with the MPK.

Take the 500 to the computer with a midi to usb cord. Set the 500 as the master, this way you can trigger your samples with the mpc and have fl running synched at the same tempo playing you bassline controlled by you mpk

you can do both, and if you actually stuck the card in the pc's cf slot you would have your answer already . Not trying to be rude, but explore your gear and experiment with it before you come running for help, otherwise your knowledge will very limited.

so I would have to hook up the mpk to FL then when done with that unplug it then hook up the mpc and work with that. Basically use each one at different times. If so that works but dont I need a midi inerface to run my mpc to the cpu Ive been hearing that I need one but I dont know. thanks for the reply you have helped the most keep the answers coming PLease

You can have both things plugged into FL at once. You will need USB to MIDI. For your own sake, just **** listen to me.

Yeah, listen to Esq before you get a headache. Gear wasn't ment to plug and unplug all the time unless you do live gigs. Gear should be ready to use at your disposal. Remember that and don't buy that cheap Milwakee beer neither.
