Interested in buying a mpc, trying to get the right one , i am a beginner but looking forward to produce hip hop music and reaggae. Would like one that has direct recording and not that hard to function being a beginner.

MPC2500, 4000, and 5000 has that feature exclusively but you can ninja-it-yourself on the 500 as well. Go to Record mode and hit play to begin a sequence and just record live. The recorded stuff will be a sample and you can chop it up how you like and the sequence will not be affected.
