Loading Samples

Hey.

Bought myself an MPC 500 to use live in my set a few months ago and tried loading my own samples on to the MPC so I didn't have to use the naff presets already on there.

I could connect it to my macbook fine and drag and drop my samples to it without any issues. However, when it came to assigning the sample to a pad it came up with "Unknown File Format". Really confused because they are just single hit Wave files that I have bounced from Logic Pro 9. Does anyone know why it says it's an "Unknown File Format"? Help!

They are 24-bit files. Search this website for recommendations on how to batch convert 24-bit files to 16-bit.

Ah thanks man! I think I can easily change it to 16 instead of 24 on my laptop!

The file format is recognised now, I can actually load it but don't know how to make a new sequence and rename it, and then put this sample into the sequence? Please help! I'm a little bit new to this.

Look, you need to read the manual and play around with the unit to learn these kind of things. The question you are asking is only going to get answered in unhelpful, sarcastic ways which could be demoralising, so please get stuck into the manual, search this forum and most of all get into the guts of the machine.
